If Jesus were to in bodily form to run as President in the United States just how good would His campaign fare? In a nation where somewhere around 50 million people claim to be born again, just how many would really support His agenda if He were here on earth to as a man to promote it? The tenants of His agenda being summarized in these words: Truth, Justice, Judgment, Equity, Freedom. What would the platform of stated values and objectives look like in the light of the title question? If Jesus ran for the Presidecy, or our current leading parties sincerely promoted godliness as their agenda perhaps their platform statements of values would look something like as follows:
- The elimination of women in public and church offices. For it is Written: Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. (1 Timothy 2: 11-12 and 1 Timothy 11:3)
- The promotion of the chief calling of a woman as that of wife, mother, and home-maker. For it is written: I will therefore that younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversity to speak reproachfully. ( 1 Timothy 5:14)
- Cancel all forms of sex education other than that of chastity. For it is written: That they (older women) may teach the younger women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. Flee also youthful lusts; but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. (Titus 2:4-5 and 2 Timothy 2:22)
- Cancel 99% of public welfare. For the picture of socialism that is taught by the Scripture works only after personal responsibility has been completely exercised and is then executed through the family unit, the church, and the community of friends a needy person may have. It is not built off the oppression of taxation which is money government steals from one citizen to give to another citizen. For it is written: Behold my servant whom I uphold, mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him; he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles. He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause the voice to be heard in the street. A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench; he shall bring forth judgment unto truth. He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth; and the isles shall wait on his law. ( Isaiah 42: 1-4)
- End the murder of “legalized” abortion immediately. For it is written: Thou shalt not kill. (Exodus 20:13)
- He'd eliminate all cross dressing of the sexes. In other words, the adorning of women in pants, and thus take away an extreme basic element of the empowerment of the spirit of feminism. For it is written: The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment; for all that do so are abomination unto the Lord thy God. (Dueteronomy 22:5)
- Pull all troops out of Iraq because it is not America's battle. For it is written: He that passeth by, and meddleth with strife not belonging to him, is like one that taketh a dog by the ears. Let a bear robbed of her whelps meet a man, rather than a fool in his folly. (Proverbs 26:17 & 17:12)
- Make sodomy and bestiality punishable by death. For it is written: Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is an abomination. Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith; neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion. (Leviticus 18:22-23)
- Institute the death penalty for intentional murder cases. For it is Written: Who so sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed; for in the image of God made he man. (Genesis 9:6)
- Institute the death penalty for adultery. For it is written:
And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbor's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death. (Leviticus 20:10) - Eliminate divorce accept in cases of fornication as described by Christ's teaching, and a unbeliever abandoning a believer, as is taught by the Apostle Paul. For it is written: Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so. Amd I say unto you, Who-soever shall put away is wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another , committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery. But if the unbelieving depart let him depart. A bother or a sister is not under bondage is such cases: but God hath called us to peace. ( Mathew 19: 8-9 & 1 Corinthians 7:15)
- Institute corporal punishment for crimes lesser than the death penalty. For it is written: ...... but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding. A whip for the horse, a bridle for the ass, and a rod for a fool's back. ( Proverbs 10:13b & 26:3)
- Eliminate the creation and promotion of pornography. For it is clearly taught that the nakedness of all individuals is to uncovered only in the premise of a proper marriage relationship. (Leviticus 18: 7-19)
- Establish the practice of the Sabbath day. That single seventh day dedicated to the worship of Yahweh, and for men to rest. For it is written, and has never been annulled: Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid; yea, we establish the law. ( Exodus 20:8 and Romans 3:31)
It would appear to me that the Jesus of the Scriptures would not get many votes if He were running for the United States Presidency even though we boast that 50 million of us are born of His spirit. None the less, He has been appointed LORD of all nations, and those that truly know Him obey Him. Further, the time comes when He shall reign upon the earth in bodily form, and all those that have hated His government will be slain in front of Him. My encouragement to you America is to repent of your sins. For they are very many. Flush the wayward preachers and politicians and find men of godly values to follow.
