Who Sits King over Natural Disasters, God or Chance?
Hey America
I would speak to you in the name of the one whom God has appointed Lord over all nations. To be Lord means to be supreme in authority. Yes, that means Jesus is supreme over all your people and their leaders, your president, civil leaders, educators, religious leaders, yes, even your Supreme Court. Life and light are to be granted to all who seek Him, but His enemies will be ground to powder.
I have always been a bit impressed by the weather people who can fairly accurately forecast the weather days in advance. Whether it will be warm or cold, rain or snow, or windy, etc. My compliments to them. But, I would like to pose a question to you, America. If we can forecast the weather why can’t we forecast the judgment of God upon our land? Think back over the last decade or so.....the San Francisco earthquake, California drought, California flood, Hurricane Andrew, Iniki, and Roxanne, as well as others. Huge flooding in our Midwestern states and drought along the east coast; fires in California, the Los Angeles earthquake and more recently the western fires. In 1995, a record year for tornadoes, plus the western floods in the fall. The year of 1996 brought the various floods in Arizona, California, Oregon and Washington. With the great Red River Valley flood in 97-98 and the winter of El Nino and its torrents of rain on the west coast. And there have been numerous regional natural catastrophes, far too many to list. The year of 1999 brought five major hurricanes, many tornadoes and numerous fires. The year 2000 saw more than 5.5 million acres burned in the US. 2001 saw the Midwestern heat wave and tropical storm Allison in Houston Texas. 2002 saw the New Jersey drought. 2003 saw Killer storms in Kansas, Missouri and Tennessee as well as hurricane Isabel striking the Atlantic coast. 2004 saw four hurricanes strike Florida. 2005 saw hurricanes Katrina, Wilma, and Rita. 2006 saw killing blizzards in Colorado, and the California heat wave blamed for over 200 deaths. 2007 saw the California fires. 2008 saw the most recent horrendous US natural disaster, the Iowa floods.
Fires, floods, tornadoes, hurricanes, droughts, etc. all adding up to a tremendous loss of property, income and lives. I suppose some think that this is just happenstance. I ask you, where are our leaders, both civil and religious, who might have insight concerning the reason these things are happening? I have heard some who possess insight but I believe that most are unenlightened and cowardly. You might say, oh, that’s just Mother Nature acting up. Well, my friend, I suggest to you that God has Mother Nature under His control, and “she” doesn’t do anything He does not want “her” to. Even those among us that confess that God is the creator have lost touch with the realization that He holds all things (which includes the forces of nature) in His control. Why is it that our president, the U. S. Senate, and Congress, in their supposed love and boundless wisdom do not tell us that relief can only be gotten though repentance before God. I tell you, it will never come by way of humanistic propaganda, programs, or endless scientific study. We are a sinful people and we must repent or God will plague us until we are destitute. Eph. 5:6 gives you the answer to why these things befall us and why God does not move in our favor to hold them back. Read it! It’s there in black and white. You see, friends, God never willingly afflicts mankind. The purpose of His affliction is to get our attention and humble us. Though He brings grief, He will also show compassion if we will repent. I will offer to you counsel both man and woman. Bend your knees before God confessing and turning from your sins. As you walk with God He will bring light to you. According to that light, flush out the very many ungodly leaders both religious and civil who lead you contrary to the faith of God. Remember this, even the devil himself talks about God. It is he who does according to the way of God that is approved.
